El autor, siguiendo los pasos de Manuel Alonso, Abelardo Dias Alfaro, Luis Llorens Torres y otros escritores costumbristas, describe estampas de la vida cotidiana y cultura del jíbaro moderno. Su encuentro con don Gino, quien lo guía a través de muchos aspectos de la vida en el campo, epitomiza la profundidad de la experiencia, las imágenes y el lenguaje utilizado para la redacción de los poemas, cuentos y relatos incluidos en esta obra.

My second poetry book focuses on life more than anything else. Every part of life and what it means to be truthfully living.

My first collection of poetry focuses on love and how it correlates to life. Though the poems may sound as if they were written by a love-stricken teen, their meanings lie deeper and relate to people of all ages.

This collection is written for all who have a broken heart or have had a broken heart in the past. The authors and poets worldwide have shared their hearts and stories with this reader. These gifts writers weave a story where each human can find a connection but also consolation. In the telling of their stories, the writers weave a web of healing and hope.

In a world apparently dominated by fear and greed, is the ideal of the ‘goodness of Mankind’ merely an illusion? Could it be that our perceptions of our civilization are more a quantitative illusion than a qualitative reality? Consider by what means YOU may have concluded that perhaps humanity is indeed a ‘lost cause.’ Where is the wisdom of ‘writing off’ the bulk of humanity as a lost cause when in the lives of most of us, love, grace, and joy are the real potentials of directly inter-personal experiences? In 2011 Todd Sukany began writing poems about his experiences as a runner on the thirty-five-mile Frisco Highline Trail in Missouri’s Ozarks. These poems expanded to a collection of over one hundred poems, spanning more than thirteen years of running and writing. Varied in construction, the poems are rooted in the poet’s encounters on the trail.
